Liminal Journeys Dream Interpretation

Throughout time and across cultures, people have looked to their dreams for meaning, direction, connection and healing in their lives. Dream interpretations date back to at least 3000-4000 B.C. where they were documented on clay tablets.

In Egypt, people with particularly vivid and significant dreams were believed to be blessed and considered special. People who had the power to interpret dreams were looked up to and seen as divinely gifted. In the bible, there are over seven hundred mentions of dreams.

In the Greek and Roman era, dreams were often seen in a religious context and as messages from the gods. People who were ill would sleep in dream temples, called Asclepieons, in the hope that cures would be sent through their dreams.

In Native American cultures, women's dreaming rites started at the onset of menstruation. There was a special lodge for women that they went to during what they called their "moon time." During this time, women's dreams were considered very powerful!

There are many different types of dreams, creative, lucid, precognitive, past life, and out-of-body are a few examples, and there are many different levels to dreams, including the personal and collective levels. Often, a dream will consist of many different types and levels, especially a big dream which can offer meaning for a lifetime.

Kathie Anderson, MA, CCHT, RMT, holds a Certificate in Dream Studies from JFKU, and can help you to decipher the meaning of your dreams. She uses a highly intuitive approach to guide you to the interpretation of your dream. Dreamwork may be combined with hypnotherapy or Reiki, or can be conducted in a local park. Dreams are very much connected to the outside world, and nature can bring further insight into the meaning of your dreams.

Liminal Journeys offers individual & group dreamwork sessions. Please see the Classes page for more information on upcoming Dream Circles.

Row, row, row your boat
gently down the stream.

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
life is but a dream!
