Liminal Journeys Hypnotherapy

Unlike stage hypnotism, which portrays hypnosis as a form of mind control, hypnotherapy is a natural and empowering method for making positive changes in one's life. During a hypnotherapy session, individuals are guided into a trance, or an altered state of consciousness between a waking state and a sleeping state, through a relaxing process similar to guided imagery. A dialogue then takes place between the hypnotherapist and client to uncover the core of an issue, discover inner resources, and make suggestions to transform psychological, emotional, physiological and chemical aspects of oneself. In a hypnotic state a doorway is opened between the conscious and subconscious levels of being. This not only allows an individual to access his or her own reservoir of inner wisdom, it also increases an individual's responsiveness to suggestion to create positive changes in one's life. Each person experiences the hypnotic phenomenon in his or her own way. Some of the issues that hypnotherapy can be used for are:

Bilateral Stimulation is a form of hypnosis. An altered state of consciousness is induced by stimulating alternate sides of the brain using an instrument that produces synchronized beeps in the ears and vibrations in the hands. By drawing attention from one side of the body to the other a trance is induced. This light hypnotic effect occurs, because identical information is flowing into both hemispheres of the brain slightly out of sync. As the brain responds to the dissonance, habitual ways of thinking begin to crumble. The brain begins to rebalance, and mental, emotional and spiritual healing begins to unfold in a very Tao-like, natural, way. Such stimulation has been found to have the same healing effect as years of intense meditation, and the results are often powerful!
