Liminal Journeys Reiki & EFT
|
Energy therapies are based on the belief that everything in our world consists of vibrating energy, including our bodies. The speed of vibration determines how solid any given object appears. Our bodies are vibrating quite slowly and, therefore, appear quite solid in form. However, our bodies are also surrounded by layers of energy that are vibrating at a much higher rate. It is when a disruption occurs in our energy field that symptoms of mental, emotional, or physical dis-ease manifest on a physical level. All physical disorders first begin in our energy system. Reiki and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) are two energy therapies that serve to rebalance our energy system.

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese word meaning "universal vital energy." It is a method of natural healing based on the application of Universal Life Force Energy. Reiki is not massage, hypnosis, or a tool for diagnosing illness. It is a technique that addresses both chronic and acute conditions, gently and powerfully promoting balance among all the body's systems and the normal regenerative processes of the body and mind. Reiki is especially beneficial for pain, stress, anxiety, depression and the immune system.
Before a Reiki session begins, an intention can be set for the purpose of the Universal Life Force Energy. However, the energy has an intelligence of its own and will flow to where it is needed to bring your mind and body into balance and overall well-being. During a Reiki session, the receiver remains fully clothed, while the Reiki practitioner gently places her hands on or slightly above the body. The Reiki practitioner follows a series of hand positions, but can also focus on areas of pain or discomfort.
The effects of Reiki vary from individual to individual. Some individuals perceive a tingling or pulsing sensation, feel warmth and comfort, or may even fall asleep during a Reiki session. Other individuals may experience little during the session, but afterwards enjoy a sense of calm and well-being, and a deep, restful sleep. It is also possible to experience powerful sensations or emotions. But most recipients experience deep relaxation during a Reiki session.

| Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) |
|
EFT is a powerful energy therapy technique that provides freedom from negative emotions, anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress syndrome, migraines, self-doubt, reluctance, low self-esteem, grief, rape, physical, sexual or emotional abuse, intense fears, phobias, panic attacks, physical pain, addictive cravings and many other of life's challenges. It is similar to acupuncture and acupressure in that it utilizes the energy meridians of the body. However, EFT involves tapping on certain acupoints, rather than inserting needles and applying pressure. It is easy to learn and simple to use. Please see www.emofree.com for more information.

| Energy Therapies & Animal Companions |
|
Animals can also have their energy system out of balance in a similar way to humans, and this will lead to imbalances in their physical bodies. Animals enjoy Reiki and will benefit from the Universal Life Force Energy, like their human companions. Please see the Fees page for the cost of a long-distance or in-person Reiki session for animal companions.
It is interesting to note that our animal companions are often mirroring aspects of ourselves that we are not aware of or have not acknowledged in ourselves. Because of this, it is often helpful when treating an animal to treat your own issues around the animal by using EFT on yourself.
